Last week, I decided it was about time to introduce Jace to the zoo life. Though still a bit young to understand anything, it was fun to see his expressions once he did focus on something interesting to him. He had a few favorites, the first was the Guinea Hog. The minute I strolled him up to his/her cage (lets be honest, female hogs aren't any prettier than male hogs), he locked his eyes on "it" and stared until I decided it was time to look at something new. I think he would have stared at it all day.

His second favorite was the fish aquarium. Both he and his friend Ashley that joined us enjoyed watching the fish go by. Here they are in their matching strollers. Once Jace noticed her sippy cup in her stroller, he was done with that exhibit.

And finally, Jace's third favorite was the Prairie Dogs. Actually this was my favorite but it is by far the cutest picture and he looks happy so I'll say it was his favorite too. He didn't actually see or care about the prairie dogs but the picture moment was just to prime to pass up. Picture this, me, in white shorts, scooting on my bum/back through a tiny "kid sized" tube with a wiggly baby on my lap, tummy to tummy trying to reach our destination of a bubble at the end. We were climbing our way through a human (kid) size representation of the tunnels prairie dogs have underground and the bubble at the end was where the prairie dogs would poke their heads out above ground. By the time I reached the bubble, held Jace up for these cute pictures and wiggled our way back out through the way too humid bubble and tube, I was sweating so bad. It was worth it though, then Stephanie and Ashley made the trek through the prairie dog tunnels for their picture opportunity. People were looking at us like we were crazy mothers for taking our babies into such situations, obviously it didn't affect us much.
