A Dream

I woke up Friday morning dreading the day in addition to looking forward to the weekend. My Dad and Step mom, Anne, were flying us to Salt Lake for my Birthday. Why would I dread such a gift? Fortunately none of you have had to step onto an airplane with my darling boy Jace. He is not such a fan of being confined, especially for such a long time. I told myself that it would all be over eventually and I can stand anything for 3 hours. I should have given Jace more credit. He was an absolute dream the entire day. He woke up on time, actually took a morning nap (almost 2 hours), stayed in his stroller when we needed him to at the airport, and tried his hardest to be patient the entire flight. He was so tired around the middle of the flight and would lay himself down on the floor beneath us. "Is he going to sleep? That would be a miracle?", I said to JJ. Nope, he just took a 10 second rest on was ready to go again. For the majority of the flight he stood between J and I on the floor and played with his toys, ate snacks, and did his tricks for us over and over again. The flight attendant wanted him to walk up and down the isle because there were other babies for him to visit. Jace loved it and didn't want to return to our seats. Once we got to SL without one tantrum which is amazing, he was quiet in the car all the way home, went to dinner with us at the restaurant without fussing, and even wanted to play all night before we put him to bed finally. He has even been very willing to play with everyone and let others hold him which is unheard of for little Jace. He hasn't stopped signing "Dog" since he got here because of the kitties he chases around. I am so grateful for his patience and happiness the last few days. Lets hope it continues. We have had so much fun with all our families and it has only been two days. Already we have shopped, visited our newest niece Madeline who is so beautiful, hung out with lots of family and have much more to come. Thanks Dad and Anne for bringing us here.

I am so glad that everything worked out so well. I've meant to call and check up on you and have never gotten around to it. Good Job Jace!
