"And Then I Woke Up"
Was it true? Had Jace turned into the relaxed, snugly, perfect little man he was our entire trip to Salt Lake? I wish. He truly was an absolute dream for pretty much the entire 9 days we were there. The ride home was another story. My dream was over. We were only on the plane for about 20 minutes before J and I were wondering why we didn't pack the Benadryl. In Jace's defense, his cold was getting worse by the day and he hadn't slept well at all the night before. The 3 hour flight home was spent pulling anything and everything out of my bag to try and keep his attention. Having my wonderful husband there to help was a relief. Poor little Jace did as well as he could given his condition. From the moment we put him in the car to drive home, he was out. He slept for almost 3 hours and even transitioned from the car to his crib without a fuss. Ever since we got home, we are dealing with the worst cold Jace has ever had. His little eyes are both weepy, his nose is a faucet, and on top of it all a molar is coming through. Hopefully he gets a break soon and has a second shot at giving mommy back her Dream boy. Despite all of this, I am loving every moment of being his mom. He is understanding so much more and communicating so well. Even though the last few days have not been ideal, I would take them any day just to have him with me forever.
