J has been out of town since Wednesday and wasn't due home until Sunday night. Saturday I came down with some sort of stomach bug. It literally took everything out of me to get out of bed and find easy (yet healthy) food for Jace to eat, change his nasty, gaggy diapers, and give him as much love as I could without touching him too much. I put him to bed early Saturday night because I couldn't stand one more second. On top of all this he is teething and just wanted mommy to love on him. I wasn't much better Sunday morning after a long, and terrible night. The countdown began until J got home at 7 pm. Our entire house was in shambles from Jace's exploration. Every pot, pan, cookie sheet, etc. was either on the kitchen floor or next to me on the couch at some point during the day. I could tell something was up when things got quiet. This video shows it all. He had taken the lid off of Annie's dog food, unloaded her makeshift water dish (he rarely touches he regular dishes but they were in the dishwasher and I wasn't about to waste any energy to get them out), and one by one brought her itty-bitty food over to the bowl. Notice he knew I was there and knows he shouldn't be doing it but he didn't look up because he knew I would make him stop. He knew something was different because mommy wasn't getting up off the couch so he was able to do whatever he wanted.
After cleaning up the dog food mess, I put on another baby show for him. Thank goodness he likes TV somewhat to keep him entertained at times like this! He loves Wonder Pets. From the minute the song starts at the beginning, he starts dancing. Notice the mess of toys, Tupperware, and utensils around. What a fun time Daddy had cleaning up when he got home. I didn't leave it all for him, I was able to put most of it away.
Thanks to Jace for being such a sweetheart the entire weekend. He took two naps so I could rest, played so well by himself, and had a great time teasing Annie with his snacks. With two molars coming in, he was so understanding and amazing.

Don't you know moms can't get sick :) Hope you are feeling better, glad to here Jace was a sweet boy while you endured the stomach bug!
Oh...I am so sorry that you were sick, especially with J away! I am glad that Jace was a good boy for you! It seems that they do know when they need to be an angel for mommy, especially when you are sick! I hope that you feel better!
My favorite was putting the dog food in the dish one piece at a time - that was a long little walk for him there and back too :-)! I'm glad you're feeling better!
