TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE?

For the past four or five days, Jace has been practically putting himself to bed for naps and sleep at night. Jace has always been a fighter of sleep. We have a great routine that definitely helps but doing it himself is another story. We've been bathing him right after dinner around 6:15 or so and then having some quiet wind down activities. Prior to the past few days he would go to bed around 8:00pm. Now around 7:00 or soon thereafter he gets up from whatever he is doing and says loudly, "BED". Well Alright then! He then proceeds to say goodnight to everyone and ever thing as he makes his way into his room. "Night Night Annie, Night Daddy (blows kiss), Night Cars, Night Door, Night Window, Night Puzzle". I follow him into his room, do our little quick ritual, and he again asks for his bed. Usually he would say chair and want me to hold and rock him, then he'd say song and want me to sing to him. Not lately. I miss it even though it is kind of nice that he is loving his bed so much. Some nights he'll talk for up to 45 minutes. He just knows its time I guess.

Tonight in particular, we had a busy night of yard work so we were off schedule a bit. I was certain to get FHE in because I actually remembered on a Monday instead of Wednesday. Jace was already for bed as I was coming in the front room with the lesson. J said he was already asking for bed and so I quickly began. About half way through (2-3 min), he stood up and said, "BED" and walked away. The lesson was over. Off he went to bed.

This is how he sleeps for naps lately. Sometimes at night too. Its usually how he falls asleep and then he turns over a little later.
