Here Ike comes. At the beginning of the week, Ike placed little threat on hitting our Houston area. But as you can see, he decided to change course and he's supposed to hit pretty close. We'll know for sure early Saturday morning when he makes his Grand Entrance where exactly he decides to arrive. I can't wait for Ike to show his true colors and see what all this Hurricane Hoopla is all about. J and I have not a clue to what expect, but we've been told by local officials to stay and let those with immediate threats evacuate. We don't want another Rita evacuation on our hands. For those of you (my family) who don't know how to read this picture, Ike's eye is projected to hit somewhere within the red cone area. Ike is a big storm however and his effects will be felt for hundreds of miles on either side of the eye of the storm. He'll either be a Category 2, 3 or 4. Right now Ike is a Cat 2 and they suspect he'll strengthen as he nears landfall. Our local officials her in Sugar Land project very high winds, tree and roof damage, power outages, and lots o'rain. Let me tell you though, Sugar Land is going crazy. Sam's Club is near empty of food and supplies, lines to get gas are longer than long, and people are scurrying around trying to pick up anything and everything they may need in case Ike really does do some damage. We are in for a crazy weekend.
